Shawn

“Mindfulness Practice has made me aware that the joys, hopes, sadnesses and pains of all beings are but a reflection of my own mind state, and that we share a vast interconnected whole. This has given rise to compassion, empathy, and the hope that humanity will finally realise that a harm to others is also a harm to all. Experience is the food of Empathy.”

Shawn shared his story as part of the Empathy and Hope Project, an immersive art exhibition on the impact of our social environments on the health of our minds. Chapter 2 of this traveling exhibition will be hosted in Durban, South Africa from 12 March – 03 May 2020, featuring photographic art works by Thabiso Sekgala, Lindokuhle Sobekwa, Witness Change & a Refugee Centre in Durban.
